June Gratitude, June 2023
I do apologize that this newsletter is late! So much is going on and I am grieving and busy with so many other things. In times like these, no matter what is going on in your life and mine, Jesus needs to be right beside us.
Campmeeting is in a couple of weeks and before long, we will be In July and the beginning of a new 2-year cycle of service. Psalm 126:3 comes to mind,,, Looking back on the past 2 years, can you reflect with me and say. “The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad?”
So much has happened that has been unpleasant, but how has God blessed you and your family in the past 2 years? What are you grateful for? When I am feeling my worst, praises to God lifts my spirits and then it is easier to look around for someone to help or extend a kind word to. Even the “difficult” people in our lives respond to genuine, heartfelt kindness. For some, that may be the only way they can really “see” the love of God. That is what “personal ministries” is really all about… not only spreading the word that our God is a loving, caring and generous God; but that His love and generosity is so abundant that it flows out through us as we minister to others in the church and outside of it.
At prayer meeting this last week, we read the following paragraph from Christ’s Object Lessons:
Christ does not bid His followers strive to shine. He says, Let your light shine. If you have received the grace of God, the light is in you. Remove the obstructions, and the Lord's glory will be revealed. The light will shine forth to penetrate and dispel the darkness. You cannot help shining within the range of your influence. pg. 420
So as we end another cycle of service, let’s keep our eyes on Jesus who will lead and guide us and prepare us for that which we long most for… His soon coming. When all seems hopeless, remember you are loved. MB
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me, and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart…” Jer. 29:11-13 NKJV
