It's almost over..., August 2025
Yes, in a matter of minutes, this month will be over and before you and I know it, the year will have passed. Just now, I finished chapter 41, “Apostasy at the Jordan,” in the book, Patriarchs and Prophets. The previous chapter about Balaam, also stands as a warning to us as well. We are closer than ever to the coming of Jesus and need to be awake to the spiritual dangers about us! Every temptation we succumb to will endanger our relationship to the Lord and the resulting witness… and the desire to reach out and help others.
We have heard so many sermons about the Laodicean church and the symbolism as it relates to us in the recent past (and now) and that stirring message in Revelation chapter 3 has become lost in the dust of the current challenges that face you and I. Have you noticed that things are happening so quickly that it is numbing? The desire for distraction has become increasingly strong as well. It is hard to keep up with it all and I don’t know about you, but I am distressed and in need of relief… “For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.” Romans 8:22, 23
Take hold of the hope that we have in Jesus; for He is “the author and finisher of our faith…” “…Let him take hold of My strength, That he may make peace with Me; And he shall make peace with Me…” “Come unto Me , all you who labor and are heavy laden… and I will give you rest.” “But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” (Hebrews 12:2 KJV, Isaiah 27:5 NKJV, Matthew 11:28 KJV and Isaiah 43:1–3 ESV)
Let’s keep praying, reading our Bibles, and by God’s power, live victorious lives that through the Holy Spirit, will draw the people we meet to our Savior. MB
