2025 is Coming!, December 2024
Are you looking forward to it? What are your hopes and dreams? Any plans?
Before I even think about those things, I usually go through the ritual of shredding documents and clearing out my files that need it. Sometimes, I have been known to go through what little I own and get rid of things that I have not used or worn in a year, or I have been hanging onto for a long time and it may be time to let go of some of it. Fortunately, I have been doing this throughout the year and that there is not so much to do anymore. Generally, I do not like office work or shuffling papers or going through things; yet I know that this is important to keep up with.
At this time of the year, it doesn’t hurt to do another type of inventory. Christendom has celebrated the birth of Jesus and we and others are preparing for and looking forward to the 2nd coming of Jesus in the clouds. The signs are there and He is our only hope in this broken and chaotic world.
I love simple children’s stories and lessons because they break things down to a level where all can understand. One example is the 3-leged stool. It is a very safe thing to sit on as long as each leg is the same length and is not broken. They represent important parts in our friendship with Jesus: Bible study, Prayer, and Sharing what we have learned with others. Take a non-judgmental period of time and ask yourself, How am I doing with each of these? (NOTE: I will be doing this too. I need improvement in each area, for sure!) How is your relationship with Jesus? Are you looking forward to His 2nd coming? Sometimes, it helps to write your answers down on paper and realistically look at it later.
I’m not asking anyone to make resolutions, but to simply move toward a closer walk with Jesus. In doing that, all of us will clear away those things that may be blocking us from receiving the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Join me in taking time to be with our Lord reading our Bibles, Praying, and Sharing these beautiful truths and the healthy lifestyle that we enjoy.
May Jesus bless you in 2025 and let’s hasten His 2nd coming so that we all can go home! MB
