Summer dropped in and now has left for a while. My tomato seedlings are doing well. I have a small patch of the garden area out back that is getting ready for them and a pepper plant or 2. In spite of our ever-changing weather, the signs are that summer will be here before we know it. The dogwoods are blooming, as well as the azaleas and our stunning rhododendrons. You probably know where I am headed here… The English Standard Version says it very well.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training
us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled,
upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope,
the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave
himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a
people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14
Yes, I’m bringing it up again… Jesus is coming and the signs are blaring loud and clear. We are to proclaim the 3 Angels’ Messages and declare the good news of Righteousness By Faith through Jesus and yet, some are not interested.
There is a single sentence in the book, Acts of the Apostles, on page 13 that clearly outlines what the purpose of our church is. “From the beginning God has wrought through His people to bring blessing to the world.” Salvation has been the best news ever! The formula for blessing others is in our text from Titus. A vibrant and living friendship with God will spill out into the lives of those we go out to see, shop with, eat near, spend time with, and live with. A desire to share and give to others is the natural outcome; born from knowing God and realizing that He loves us beyond measure. “How Great the Father’s Love for Us” sings the love of God at Calvary and the hymn, “I’ll Go Where You Want Me to Go” is the prayer of service. May Jesus bless you as you continue to live with Him and share His love with others. MB
