I thank the LORD that my laptop is back from repairs! First thing I did when I got home was to plug it into the power strip and then connect it to the modem.
I broke the screen and it took 10 days to get it back. It is an inexpensive model and can be easily replaced. But, all my Personal Ministries information, Bible studies, notes, sheets, and blogs are on that thing… and sermons/notes and important info about prayer. I was willing to pay what I needed to get the laptop back. It had value. You and I have value also. We cannot be replaced! Jesus died for us. He sees potential in each person for a meaningful relationship with Him for eternity. His love is stronger than death.
It is easy to get distracted away from Him and His undying love. The world has tentacles like an octopus. This animal can lose an arm and is designed to grow another one. We can sever one way the devil tries to tempt us to draw us away from God and another one will show up to replace it in no time! The whole thing is exhausting!
We are living in a time where distractions are all over the place and a connection to God through His Word and prayer are vital! I just found out that if I’m not in constant prayer and spending time studying my Bible, my witness could be fatal for those around me. OUCH! The fact is that a witness (what is said or done or how a person’s life is lived) can lead people to the Lord Jesus or away from Him. There were many days that I ran off to work without having a morning devotional or praying and I was actually spiritually “naked.” Open to all kinds of trouble. It’s like a soldier going out to battle without a weapon, armor, sturdy boots, and no helmet. A “sitting duck.” I cannot get away with that any more! How about you?
Now comes some tough questions… How is your relationship with the Lord? What prevents you from Bible study and staying in prayer? What gobbles up your time and keeps you busy? (I know there are things that each of us need to do that have to do with work and family.) I have had to take a hard look at what I’m doing and change things. It is only by the power of God that these changes and adjustments can be made! Staying plugged into God fully will draw in others as we continue to go out and prepare the world for Jesus’ 2nd coming. “ ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) Be blessed and know that you are loved!
